Little Kids and Make-Up

I'm sure I'll piss people off with this one- but hey... what's new?! But here's one that's been bothering me for a while. I can't stand seeing little girls wearing tons of make-up. There are several situations where this occurs: beauty pageants, cheerleading, and dance are a few. When I see little girls wearing skimpy outfits and tons of make-up, with glitter all over their bodies, it grosses me out. Why are they made to look so slutty? It's not cute. It's inappropriate for their age. Kids grow up fast enough. Why make them look like hookers at such a young age? I took dance as a kid. We wore costumes for recitals. But they included tights, tutus, and the like. I do remember getting my hair and make-up done. But it was like church make-up with my hair up in a bun. These girls are definitely in another league. Why does being in dance (or any of those othehr activities) require that kind of look?
